Our competition is closed now and the winner chosen, we went for the high tech but reliable method of pulling it from a hat. But first as I’m sure you are wondering, the highest mountain in Europe is Mt Elbrus. It is in the Caucasus mountains, which form the boarder between Europe and Asia. Elbrus is on the European side of the border and stands at 5642mtrs (18510ft). And although that may be bad news for Mont Blanc it’s good news for Mark G, which other than the fact he entered on behalf of his girl friend is all we know about him. Congratulations to Mark, sorry to the rest of you, better luck next time, as there is sure to be a next time, and if any of you are still interested there are still a few places left on the December camp.
